Dr. Richard B. Rothschild M.D.

Dr. Richard B. Rothschild attended the University of California, San Diego where he obtained a degree in Biochemistry and graduated with highest honors, he also received Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude designations. He then enrolled at Harvard Medical School also graduating with honors. Dr. Rothschild is board certified in Cardiology and Intervention Cardiology.
He began his practice in Ventura County in 1988 and therefore began many affiliations with the medical community in Ventura County. He served as the president of the American Heart Association and also a member of the Board of DIrectors. He has had several administrative roles at St. John’s Regional Medical Center as well.
Dr. Rothschild is the Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 776 in West Los Angels County from 2010 to present time. He is very active in volunteering his time to our local schools and athletics programs in the area. He enjoys kayaking, hiking and spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. Rothschild is very devoted to excellent patient care and continues to be a great patient advocate within the healthcare system.
Dr. David E. Schmidt M.D. FACC

Dr. David E. Schmidt attended UCLA where he obtained a degree in Biology and graduated with highest honors. He received the Regents Scholarship Award, Phi Beta Kappa, and Summa Cum Laude designations. He then enrolled at UCLA Medical School graduating with Honors in Internal Medicine. He then went on to Cedars Sinai Medical Center for his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship, where he received the Paul Rubinstein Award in Research. While at Cedars Sinai he published several articles in the field of Cardiology.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Schmidt joined Cabrillo Cardiology with his interest in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of all facets of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Schmidt is the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Pleasant Valley Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of the Chest Pain Center at both hospitals.
Dr. Schmidt has been the Principle Investigator in the Clinical trial on Stem Cell Treatment for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure and a Sub Investigator in several other studies in Cardiology. He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of topics in the field of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Schmidt is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Schmidt is dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate, and state of the art care to his patients. He is married with three children and loves spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking in our local mountains, biking, playing tennis and reading about architecture and history.
Dr. Scott A. Zager M.D. FACC

Dr. Scott Zager attended UCLA and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology and graduated with Honors. He received the UCLA Alumni Scholarship and graduated Cum Laude. He then received his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he received the Dr. And Mrs. Henry G. Schwartz Medical Student Scholarship. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California, San Diego and his Cardiology Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he received the Fellow of the Year Award.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Zager joined Cabrillo Cardiology Medical Group in 1994. He served for many years as the Medical Director of the Coronary Care Unit at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and is currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine. Dr. Zager practices general and invasive Cardiology and is Board Certified in the field of Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Zager is dedicated to delivering compassionate, personalized, and state of the art care to his patients. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He is a avid skier and loves to travel.
Dr. Fanping Wang M.D. FACC

Dr. Fanping Wang is board-certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging, she has special interest in cardiac imaging including Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT.
Dr. Wang received her medical training at the Capital Institute of Medicine in Bejing, China. During her residency at An Zhen Hospital, she was awarded a 2 year scholarship in research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Department of Cardiology in Los Angeles. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai as well. Dr. Wang completed her fellowship in Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine at USC-LAC.
Dr. Wang’s highest priority is delivering high quality, personalized care to her patients. She loves spending time with her husband, daughter and close friends. She loves her garden, learning about Chinese art and fawning over her two dogs.
Dr. Esam M. Obed M.D.

Dr. Esam M. Obed is a Cardiovascular Disease Specialist. He graduated with honors in 1987 with his medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine. He then attended Illinois Masonic Medical Center for his Internal Medicine Residency and then completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Wayne State University, Detroit. Upon receiving his training in Cardiology he then attended Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. Having more than 31 years of diverse experiences, especially in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Obed has been a very valued member of the medical society here in Ventura County since 2003.
Dr. Obed is very commited to bringing a very personal approach to your Cardiovascular health.
Dr. Khamaj Dave' M.D. FACC

Dr. Khamaj Dave’ is a board-certified Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist. He received his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Economics and graduate degree in Biostatistics at UCLA. He received his Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology training through the UCLA School of Medicine and at UCLA affiliated hospitals and residency programs in Los Angeles. Before coming to this community in 2003, Dr. Dave’ was on the faculty at the UCLA School of Medicine and taught medical students, residents and Cardiology fellows. At various points in his medical career he has been involved with clinical research and has continued to teach. He is currently the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Pleasant Valley Hospital in Ventura County. He has won various awards and honors during his medical career and was a Physician of the Year at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Oxnard. Dr. Dave’ has also been involved at various points in his medical career with administration responsibilities and medical committees.
Patients come to Dr. Dave’ for his clinical expertise, procedural skills, and good bedside manner. He is also known to spend time with his patients and be a patient advocate. He finds it an honor to take care of patients and practice Cardiology, and loves doing it.

Dr. Heidar Arjomand M.D. FACC ,FSCAI

Dr. Heidar (AJ) Arjomand is Medical Director of “Structural Heart Disease Interventions” at St. John’s Regional Medical center. He is an experienced interventional cardiologist with board certifications in Interventional Cardiology as well as Endovascular Medicine. He completed a full year of advanced additional training in “Structural Heart Disease Interventions” at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Arjomand is one of the select Interventional Cardiologists nationally who, in addition to Interventional Cardiology, has dedicated fellowship training in “Structural Heart Disease Interventions” such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR) with MitraClip, and Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) with Watchman device. Dr. Arjomand also has advanced training and board certifications in Vascular & Endovascular Medicine. With such advanced vascular training, we are able to offer minimally invasive treatment for patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA), and Carotid Artery Disease. Dr. Arjomand is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who also treats patients with heart attack (myocardial infarction = MI). Our team offers advanced expertise in the treatment of patients with myocardial infarction by performing emergent cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to open blocked arteries in the heart.
